letter 5-21-13

We hit our 20 lessons for the first time while I’ve been out here so we were really happy about that.   We were riding our bikes to an appointment and this guy stopped us and told us that the world is going to end in 2019 hahaha. He said he knows this because he is chosen of the Lord and is the Jacob that Isaiah revealated  about in the last days haha . If there is one thing i have learned about people in Albuquerque is their brains are all fried from drugs, alcohol and the sun haha. There is this guy we know and he has been sick for about 6 months and none of the doctors knew what was going on.  We gave him a blessing and then they sent him to el Paso and found out what was wrong with him there he had something called cyclic vomiting syndrome it is so crazy. but now he is recovering and that is one cool thing. He now talks so much cuz he feels better hahaha its kinda funny how much he changed because he feels better haha. Our new bishop gave each of us missionaries a blessing and it was so cool I love when you get a blessing and the spirit is so strong haha he said that we were all sent here because we all have very unique abilities because the area is so different from normal, this area is what needs us. I don’t think I will be transferred this next transfer because i will need to stay and show the next person the ropes to this area but I think my comp will be transferred and it will probably be his last area.. As we were on our way here we got a call from the mission home for a referral.  They said this guy walked up to these sisters and said he wants to start talking with missionaries and he is in our area so we are going to start seeing him as soon as possible.  we are really excited to meet him. Things are going great. I know all the lessons i am just trying to work at remembering scriptures for questions they have and different things like that... Well love you guys so much

This week things have been getting better we have this investigator that was really solid then these 2 guys came over and told her that she needs to be better (she is trying to quit smoking but it has been really hard because she is really stressed because she is going to school) so she didn’t come to church and said she doesn't know if she wants anything to do with our church if there are people like that in it and those are the kinda people that drove her away from the Baptist church. One big thing I have learned is to not be judgmental of people; they are trying the best they can. We are teaching a Navajo family that is really cool. We have taught them a few lessons and we didn’t see much potential because they didn’t really talk much just looked at the ground and didn’t really answer our questions, but at the end of the last lesson they really came out to us and were asking us questions and seemed really interested. That was really cool.  Tonight we are teaching this guy that we have been trying to set up an appointment with for so long we are really excited for him. One thing that we do a lot is give blessings, that is really cool.. The new missionaries are really cool Elder Haskell is back (he is the one that went home for medical reasons) and then it is Elder Baird he is really cool too.  Things are going much better we are getting more members to come out with us and that is really good. The best part of every day is when we are teaching someone. The spirit is so strong every time it’s so cool. I have been reading Jesus the Christ and wow that is an intense book,

4-30-13

There hasn't been much change lately everything is pretty much the same. Yesterday we did go to Edgewood (what josh said his favorite area was) that was really fun we had a ton of extra miles that we could use so we decided to go there with a missionary that served up there and we met some families that was really fun. Sunday we met a really cool family who are less active and their daughters have crazy colored hair and it reminded me of kyra. haha   So the zone leaders got on  my comp and me because we aren’t teaching 20 lessons a week. The big problem is we have been trying to teach more, but everyone cancels or they don’t answer there phone or door so we haven’t been able to talk to anyone and that stinks. Anyway to help ma'a in preach my gospel it said that the Book of Mormon is the main component to being converted so pretty much what it means is if he reads and prays about it he will get an answer.  I know that is true he just may need some guidance distinguishing what the answer is. So everything has been really slow and i don’t have much to tell you about. We haven’t found a family to skype at their house yet, but if we do it, it will probably be between 3 and 5 ish I’m not sure. Anyway I love you guys so much. I know that our Heavenly Father loves each and everyone one of us so much and wants to help us through life. Sometimes when it’s hard we forget to ask for that help and we need to remember too.
Love,
